Q: How do I register with Transfercar.co.nz & Transfercar.com.au?

A: Click on the registration link on the top right hand corner of the website and fill in the details requested. An activation email will be sent to your account within a couple of minutes. If it doesn’t arrive, it may have been caught up in your spam box so check there, otherwise contact us: support@transfercar.net. If your activation link does not work, you may already be active so try to log in using your username and password you have created. (more…)

Often Transfercar receives questions about where you can park your car or campervan overnight for free.   It’s fair enough we think, that if you already have a place to sleep in, you shouldn’t have to spend extra cash on accommodation, so we’ve found a website that that has the answers you seek:
The Department of Conservation (DOC rocks!!) manages over 250 vehicle-accessible camping areas on conservation land. Although not all of them are free, many are and others are really cheap. But remember, you get what you pay for. Many of these patches of dirt have only basic amenities such as water and toilets, but hey, it’s still free!
Be aware guys that parking campervans and camping on the side of the road in many regions and towns is prohibited so stick to these areas if you can.

Recently, Transfercar had the pleasure of partnering up with Randall and his team at Road Runner Rentals in Christchurch, who offer quality, easy to drive campervans and motorhomes for local and international travellers in New Zealand.

On the wake of the massive earthquake that hit Christchurch in recent weeks, many families and companies were forced to evacuate and abandon their premises, unable to return indefinitely. As business ground to a halt, accommodation has become a big issue as hotels and backpackers etc were also forced to close their doors.

One of Transfercar’s valued partners, Spaceships Rental Campervans,  were one of the unfortunate rental companies to be hit hard and have now relocated to a new depot that they call “The Castle”:
